I guess i do not have dementia, yet. The puzzle is quite easy and the ball follows the rail easily. My problem is the “well” in which the ball supposed to fall is shallow so the ball does not stay in, thus less satisfactory for the player.

My grandparent just picks this up and plays with it over and over. It's just a fun little game for her when she's feeling bored while sitting on the couch watching TV or after dinner. She goes back to it over and over, plays with it for several minutes, and then sort of rediscovers it again later. We just put it next to her on the couch and she decides whether to pick it up or not. It's very sturdy and well made from bamboo and a plexiglas cover that doesn't come off.

Probably a good toy for a 3-5 year old, but this was a gift for a dementia patient and he didn't like it.
